Best Floor Order & Walkthrough — The Complete Aincrad Climb (Floors 1-10)

Optimal floor order and complete floor-by-floor walkthrough for Echoes of Aincrad. Every floor\'s bosses, quests, rewards, recommended levels, and how to handle the difficulty spikes on Floors 4 and 7.

v1.0Updated: 2026-08-10

The Climb Is a Route, Not a Checklist

Aincrad has roughly 10 cleared floors, and the game lets you skip ahead via teleport gates unlocked by other players. The optimal order is still numerical — but how you climb each floor matters more than which floor you do. This guide covers the best floor order, what to grab on each floor, and the three rules that keep the climb smooth.

Note on sources: Floor details for Floors 1–3 are well-documented by the community. Details for Floors 4–10 (enemy rosters, quest names, boss names) are community-reported and not officially published — treat specifics as approximations.

Tips:
  • The Colosseum features humanoid enemies that parry and dodge — the most technical AI duels in the game
  • Attack patterns are faster here than anywhere else. Prioritize Dexterity and attack speed
  • The floor boss has 2 phases — human form and beast form. Both must be learned separately

Floor 10 — Sky Fortress (Levels 46-50)

Tips:
  • This is the current endgame floor. Bring maxed gear, full EX-Mods, and plenty of potions
  • Angelic Knights have a punishing AoE attack at low HP — back off when they glow
  • The floor boss is the hardest fight in the game. Study its pattern before trying to win

The Three Rules of the Climb

Rule 1: Always Unlock the Teleport Gate First

The first thing you do on any new floor is find and activate its teleport gate. Everything else — quests, farming, bosses — becomes easier once you have a return route. Skipping the gate turns a bad boss attempt into a long hike back to town.

Rule 2: Complete Every Side Quest Before the Boss

Side quests award skill points, EX-Mod slots, and permanent stat bonuses — the game's actual progression currency. Fighting a floor boss without the floor's side quests is fighting at reduced power by choice.

Rule 3: Shop the Floor Vendors Before You Leave

Each floor's vendor sells unique items you cannot get elsewhere:

FloorVendor ItemWhy It Matters
------------------------------------
1Starter crafting recipes, torchThe torch is required for darker areas
7Fire resistance gearImportant for Floor 7 itself and strong on Floor 8
8Frost-resistant consumablesSoftens the Tundra's status effects

Handling the Difficulty Spikes

The difficulty jump between floors is not linear — Floors 4 and 7 are the two spikes that end climbs.

Floor 4 — Plains of War (First Spike)

  • Why it spikes: Harpies punish melee-only builds; War Golems punish unupgraded weapons.
  • How to survive: your gear must be at least Uncommon tier before the floor boss. Farm the War Golem Commander field boss once for the Rare drop head start.
  • Counter-play: bring ranged options for harpies, or wait for their dive before attacking.

Floor 7 — Lava Fields (Second Spike)

  • Why it spikes: Fire elementals punish anything without fire resistance; the lava environment punishes positioning.
  • How to survive: buy the floor's fire resistance gear from the vendor before farming. Ice damage is reported to out-damage Fire here.
  • Counter-play: never fight on lava-adjacent ground — pull enemies to the safe paths.

When to Detour (Going Back Down)

Returning to earlier floors is not wasted time — some quests and secrets require high-level stats to access:

DetourWhy
-------------
Floor 1-2 revisit at Level 20+Hidden chests and secret quests gated by stats
Floor 3 Crystal Caverns revisitSoul Crystal and Crystal Shard farming
Floor 6 elite patrol route at Level 35+Rare materials and EX-Mod drops
Schedule: do one "cleanup day" per 5 levels — sweep every previous floor for missed secrets, hidden chests, and quest chains you outleveled.

After Floor 10: The Endgame Bridge

Floor 10 is the current endgame — but the climb is not the only content. The Golden Gate repeatable boss system (1 Gold Crystal per summon) is where top-end legendary weapons and maximum-value EX-Mods are reported to drop. Treat it as the next step after the climb: finish the floors, then keep climbing the gate. See the Golden Gate Bosses Guide.

Final advice: the fastest climbers are not the ones who skip floors — they are the ones who complete each floor fully on the first pass, so they never have to return for gear, quests, or vendor items they missed.
