The Golden Gate is Echoes of Aincrad's repeatable endgame boss system. Opening a gate costs 1 Gold Crystal and summons a powerful boss; defeating it rewards Rank S (Legendary) weapons and EX-Mods. If you want maximum-value EX-Mods, Golden Gate is the only place to get them.

EX-Mod Farming Loop
- Farm Gold Crystals — the gate currency; budget them for gate runs
- Open Golden Gates at a level where the boss is beatable — they scale with you, so time your runs
- Identify max-value EX-Mods by their blue/violet text — these are the keepers
- Move EX-Mods onto your favorite base weapon — up to 4 EX-Mods can be combined onto a single weapon from the same weapon type
- Keep Golden Gate Legendaries separate — they're a different pool from smithy-crafted Legendaries and cannot be replaced by crafting
